Common use of Change in Job Classification Clause in Contracts

Change in Job Classification. 12-3-1: When a change in position requires a change in job classification, step placement on the salary schedule for individuals other than on time card, will be determined by the following procedures: a. If the employee’s change requires placement in a lower salary range, classification placement will be made in accordance with experience and job category. This step placement will determine this employee’s beginning step in the new classification. Subsequent step advancement will then occur in accordance with regular salary increments for each year. b. Exceptions may occur only when the top step of the new classification is lower than the current rate. The new salary shall remain at the same level if performing similar job tasks. If the change requires placement in a higher salary range classification, placement will be made at a rate not more than one step higher than the step preceding the transfer. Step placement will be based on experience and qualifications not to exceed three (3) steps above the current step.
