Common use of Check Off of Union Dues and Initiation Clause in Contracts

Check Off of Union Dues and Initiation. 4.2.1. Upon receipt of a properly executed authorization card signed by the employee, the Employer shall deduct from the employee's monthly pay all regular union dues and initiation fees uniformly required to maintain the employee in good standing with the Union. Such deductions are to be transmitted to the Union each month. 4.2.2. Employees and the Union shall hold the Employer harmless and shall indemnify the Employer from responsibility for withholding errors and damages caused by faulty information furnished by the employees or the Union, and the Union shall promptly refund to the employee any amounts paid to the Union in error.
