A value chain analysis considers how a firm can gain competitive advantage by generating additional value to their product by either lowering its cost or differentiating it form its competitors. Moreover, a value chain consists of all the categories of activities performed, including all stages of the supply chain, from production to consumption. Consequently, a value chain is an interdependent system of connected linkages.
