Classification Plan. The Department shall prepare, with input from the Association, classification specifications for final approval by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Civil Service Board. Classification specifications shall be descriptive and explanatory of the kind of work performed in the various positions assigned to a classification. All positions in the competitive service shall be assigned to a classification based on the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties of the classification.
