Common use of CLASSROOM RULES Clause in Contracts

CLASSROOM RULES. “Approved written guidelines” shall be defined as the student handbook used in each school. The student handbook in each building shall contain a clause stating that not all situations can be anticipated and that the building principal retains the right to deal with individual situations as they arise, using his/her professional judgment. Teachers may require that students meet and follow specific class guidelines in addition to those found in the student handbook. Each student will receive a copy of any additional written guidelines required for a specific class. These guidelines shall provide necessary class requirements and the consequences for failing to fulfill those requirements. Students shall receive such copies prior to the application of the additional requirements. Students in elective programs may request copies of such requirements at the time of enrollment. The following procedure shall be used if a teacher’s class has specific requirements in addition to the student handbook.
