CLEANING CULVERTS a. The County will thaw frozen culvert pipes as in the past. The Town’s cooperation in clearing snow from critical culvert pipes and ditches will be needed to prevent washouts during a thaw.

Brushing must be achieved by manual or mechanical cutting of brush, trees, and branches. Root systems and stumps of cut vegetation may not be disturbed unless directed by the Contract Administrator. Purchaser shall remove brushing debris from the road surface, ditchlines, and culvert inlets and outlets. Purchaser shall fall all vegetative material larger than 2 inches DBH or over 4 feet high between the marked right-of-way boundaries, or if not marked in the field, between the clearing limits specified on the TYPICAL SECTION SHEET. Clearing must be completed before starting excavation and embankment.
