Community Health Workers -Where the xxxxxxx attends a meeting with the Employer at the request of the Employer and/or in accordance with Article 10.6 (Right to Have a Xxxxxxx Present), and the meeting is outside the xxxxxxx'x scheduled hours, the xxxxxxx shall be paid his/her regular straight-time rate of pay for time spent at the meeting. Every reasonable effort shall be made to schedule the meetings during the xxxxxxx'x normal working hours. Guideline    The Employer is not involved in the election of stewards and cannot appoint a xxxxxxx. stewards are elected by their co-workers in the bargaining unit at each worksite. The BCGEU sends out notice for nominations for the number of stewards for their worksite, which is posted at each worksite on the union bulletin board.   Elections for stewards occur every three years or when there is a need for stewards. A newly elected xxxxxxx needs to complete a BCGEU xxxxxxx/Contact Information sheet and forward to the BCGEU local area office.   The BCGEU provides training for stewards. When an employer calls a meeting, employees have the right to select an available xxxxxxx from the worksite. The Employer does not choose the xxxxxxx who will attend a meeting with an employee.  The Employer is responsible to pay a xxxxxxx when assisting members as identified above, for the full amount of time, without loss of pay.
