Common use of COMPENSATING TIME Clause in Contracts

COMPENSATING TIME. Any employee may request compensating time off in lieu of overtime pay for overtime. Overtime voluntarily worked by sworn personnel in dispatch classifications may be taken as overtime pay only. Compensating time off shall be granted at 1.5 hours for each hour of overtime worked. The use of compensating time requires the prior approval of the employee's immediate supervisor. Accumulation of compensating time shall be limited to 160 hours.
