Common use of Completion of the Tenure Review Process Clause in Contracts

Completion of the Tenure Review Process. For teaching probationary faculty members, status as a regular, tenured faculty member will be effective at the start of the academic year (August) immediately following the last academic year of the successful tenure review process. For non-teaching probationary faculty members, status as a regular, tenured faculty member will be effective on July 1 or at the start of the fiscal year immediately following the last year of the successful tenure review process. In addition, at any time during the tenure review process, an Individual Tenure Review Committee may choose to recommend early tenure for an exceptional probationary faculty member. The Vice President of Academic Services or Student Services, as appropriate, and the President/CEO must also agree with the granting of early tenure before the recommendation is presented to the Board of Trustees of the District for final approval. If early tenure is granted by the Board of Trustees, then the faculty member will be classified as a tenured, regular faculty member starting with the next fiscal or academic year, as appropriate, following the District’s granting of early tenure.
