Concepts in Participant Aspect. ‌ In the Participant aspect the following concepts are used: Concept Specialisation of Description Participant template Split-Decomposition set (AND-inclusion type); Template It is a template for participants (like a role). The actual instance/execution of a process will however use Participant instances. Capability Participant template It is a more detailed description of a Participant template, meant to provide grounds for comparison of templates and instances (like a skill). Depending on the point of view a Capability can be fulfilled or required. Examples for human capabilities would be skills or knowledge. Access means Capability Represents a means of how a template or instance can be accessed (e.g. through a query, a phone number etc.). The Access means can also be separated into two subtypes: “Secured access” or “Opened access”. Participant instance Split-Decomposition set (AND-inclusion type); Instance It represents an instance (i.e. something on the lowest level of specialisation that is of interest) of a participant (like a person or an app). The instance can be used during the execution of a process, if it fits the requirements, which can be stated through the templates or capabilities. Liable entity --- It is a participant that can hold responsibility, similar to a “legal person” from law (like a person). It should be used as a second type for templates, capabilities and instances. Asset --- It is the complement of Liable entity, i.e. a participant that cannot hold responsibility (like a machine). An Asset can however be the cause of something. It should be used as a second type for templates, capabilities and instances.
