When possible and appropriate the Employer will provide to all staff information on seminars, workshops or short courses by posting a notice on the Employer’s internal web site.

Employee DevelopmentThe Parties acknowledge the importance of promoting the quality of instructional/client service. The Employer further acknowledges the importance of providing constructive support to Employees in order to enhance their instructional delivery. In recognition of these objectives: (a) The Parties shall agree on the contents of a student questionnaire, which shall be used to seek information necessary to enhance instructional delivery. (b) The Parties agree that the student questionnaires shall be distributed regularly by the Instructor responsible for each course. (c) The Parties agree that student questionnaire results shall be returned to the Employee, the Employee's Chief Instructor and the Associate Xxxx. (d) Where, on the basis of these results the need for delivery enhancement is identified, the Employee and his Chief Instructor and/or Associate Xxxx shall meet to develop strategies aimed at enhancing instructional delivery. The Employer agrees to provide resources and release time to Employees pursuant to the provisions of the Collective Agreement to assist Employees in the implementation of these strategies. (e) Employees may, on their request, invite a Union xxxxxxx to attend meetings held pursuant to Section (d). (f) Meetings conducted pursuant to Section (d) shall occur no more than two (2) times per calendar year. (g) The Employer agrees that completed student questionnaires shall be returned to Employees following the conclusion of meetings held pursuant to Section (d). The Employer further agrees that completed student questionnaires, in whole or in part, shall not be placed on an Instructor's personnel file nor used as evidence in any disciplinary action, including arbitration proceedings, taken against an Instructor. The Employer may compile summary statistical reports by specialization based on the results of student questionnaires provided they contain no reference to specific Employees. If a specialization has fewer than four (4) Employees it will be combined with another specialization in its grouping for the purpose of compiling summary statistical reports. (h) The Parties recognize the importance of having Managers and Chief Instructors understand the spirit and intent of this provision of the Collective Agreement. The Labour/Management Committee shall convene an annual meeting of Managers and Chief Instructors to review whether the administration of this provision has been consistent with its spirit and intent.
Employee Development. In order to develop skills for now and the future, employees may be provided with the opportunity to perform duties at a higher level or in different work at the same level.
Employee Development. 11.1 The City strives to provide coordinated employee development including mentoring, classroom training, and on-the-job experience. To facilitate on-the-job experience, any IBEW represented employee with an approved personal development plan may, upon approval of the Department Head, be authorized and temporarily assigned to assume the duties of a higher level position as outlined and specified in the personal development plan. Employees assigned to a higher level position will receive a temporary five percent (5%) increase in pay for all hours worked at the assigned higher level position. Work hours at the upgraded level will not exceed 120 hours in any calendar year.
Employee DevelopmentAn employee wishing to pursue educational goals may, with the guidance and support of his/her immediate non-bargaining unit supervisor and in consultation with the Human Resources Office, formally develop and obtain approval of a Career Development Program. This program shall include attainment of a certificate, an associate degree, an undergraduate degree, a graduate degree or other achievement appropriate for the employee's professional growth.
Employee Development. 44.01 The Employer and AUPE recognize that the Employer and the Employee have a joint responsibility to maintain the abilities of individual Employees to perform the duties of their position. 44.02 The Employer supports the advancement of Employees knowledge and skills by joint evaluation and consideration of appropriate learning opportunities that improve, enhance, or expand the employee’s performance, qualifications, knowledge, skills, and expertise in the current position or to develop future job-related skills applicable to positions within Bow Valley College. 44.03 These learning opportunities may include access to credit or non-credit post secondary learning courses, programs, seminars, workshops, and conferences that enhance employee qualifications directly related to their employment and growth, development, or advancement with Bow Valley College. The Employer may provide financial assistance as appropriate, which may include time off without loss of regular earnings. 44.04 The Employee will prepare a development plan in conjunction with their supervisor, at least annually, during their performance evaluation in accordance with the guidelines and procedures outlined in the Employee Development Policy.

Employee Development. 161. The City shall budget Eighty-three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($83,500*) during each year of this Agreement for employee training, education and development. Eligibility for Employee Development funds is limited to employees working twenty (20) hours or more per week. 162. Until such funds are exhausted, and subject to approval by the Appointing Officer or appropriate designee, an employee may utilize up to a maximum of $500 per fiscal year for tuition, internal or external training programs, professional conferences and professional association membership relevant to the employee’s current classification. Solely at the discretion of the Appointing Officer or designee, such funds may be supplemented with department funds budgeted for training. 163. These funds may not be used for travel, lodging or food. 164. *The amount of the fund covers both Unit 8-CC and Unit 11-AA.
