Conditions for Leave. 5.3.1 Employees granted leave under this section are guaranteed a position upon return, but not necessarily the same position occupied prior to the leave or a position in the same classification. 5.3.2 Employees returning from leave into a position of lesser classification shall receive salary according to the scale for the lower classification. 5.3.3 Employees placed in a position of lesser classification upon return from leave shall be given preference for placement into the first position which becomes available in their former classification.
