COVERED ACTIVE DUTY. In the case of a member of a regular component of the Armed Forces; duty during the deployment of the member with the Armed Forces to a foreign country. • In the case of a member of a reserve component of the Armed Forces, duty during the deployment of the member with the Armed Forces to a foreign country under a call or order to active duty in support of a contingency operation.
COVERED ACTIVE DUTY. In order for the employee to take leave for a qualifying exigency under 2(e), the military member must be on covered active duty, under a call to covered active duty status, or have been notified of an impending call or order to covered active duty. For members of the Regular Armed Forces, covered active duty is duty during the deployment of the member with the Armed Forces to a foreign country. For members of the Reserve components of the Armed Forces (members of the U.S. National Guard and Reserves), covered active duty is duty during the deployment of the member with the Armed Forces to a foreign country under a call or order to active duty in support of a contingency operation. Deployment to a foreign country means deployment to areas outside of the United Sates, the District of Columbia, or any territory or possession of the United States. It also includes deployment to international waters.

  • CONCERTED ACTIVITIES 24.1 It is agreed and understood that there will be no strike, work stoppage, slow-down, or refusal or failure to fully and faithfully perform job functions and responsibilities, or other interference with the operations of the District by the Federation, or by any of the Federation's officers, agents, or members during the term of this Agreement, including compliance with the request of other labor organizations to engage in such activity.
