CONTEXT FOR PROVIDING HOUSING ASSISTANCE IN THE ACT. Stable, secure and affordable housing is a critical element of the lives of all people in our community. All members of the community should be able to access housing that meets their needs. Without appropriate housing, members of our community cannot fully participate in education, employment, social and recreational and other activities that support their development and general wellbeing and that of our society. Although the ACT is relatively small in comparison to other States and Territories, the specific needs of its population are complex and challenging. These issues must be analysed and addressed in the context of the specific nature of housing need within the ACT. The Australian housing market, particularly in major cities, has undergone much change since the 1990s. Specifically, the cost of housing across all sectors has increased dramatically in the majority of cities and regional centres, making it difficult for people on low-moderate incomes to access housing. This, combined with changes in the employment market and other socio-economic factors, is changing the face of Australian society as many groups find themselves unable to access accommodation, employment and education. The social housing sector provides housing for a diverse group within our society. These are primarily people on low incomes and people with special and/or complex needs. Social housing provides choice and greater access to housing that caters for their specific requirements. Groups who are represented within social housing include, but are not limited to, the aged, youth, people with disabilities, Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islanders, people escaping domestic/family violence and people with mental health and alcohol and other drugs of dependence issues. For some time access to public housing has been increasingly targeted to assist those in greatest housing need. Some 85% of households in ACT public housing paid rebated rent in 2002-03, while 87.1% of allocations in 2002-03 were made to those meeting the National Housing data definition of ‘greatest need’. Under this Bilateral Agreement, the ACT Government seeks to provide, as far as practicable, housing options for the disadvantaged in our community, in a non-discriminatory, consultative environment. 2.1 The Housing System

  • Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) Consulting Teachers (CT) will be assigned to all new teachers with no prior teaching experience and tenured teachers rated ineffective on the qualitative measures at the end of the previous school year and recommended by the PAR Panel. Evaluations for Probationary and Ineffective Teachers:

  • Availability of Verizon Telecommunications Services 3.1 Verizon will provide a Verizon Telecommunications Service to Z-Tel for resale pursuant to this Attachment where and to the same extent, but only where and to the same extent, that such Verizon Telecommunications Service is provided to Verizon’s Customers. 3.2 Except as otherwise required by Applicable Law, subject to Section 3.1, Verizon shall have the right to add, modify, grandfather, discontinue or withdraw, Verizon Telecommunications Services at any time, without the consent of Z-Tel. 3.3 To the extent required by Applicable Law, the Verizon Telecommunications Services to be provided to Z-Tel for resale pursuant to this Attachment will include a Verizon Telecommunications Service customer-specific contract service arrangement (“CSA”) (such as a customer specific pricing arrangement or individual case based pricing arrangement) that Verizon is providing to a Verizon Customer at the time the CSA is requested by Z-Tel.

  • Mutual Assistance The Parties will do all things reasonably necessary or appropriate to carry out the terms and provisions of this Agreement and to aid and assist each other in carrying out such terms and provisions.

  • Other Assistance Assist SBEs in their efforts to obtain bonds, lines of credit and insurance. (Note that the Agency has a Surety Bond Program that may assist SBEs in obtaining necessary bonding.) The Agency-Assisted Contractor or Contractor(s) shall require no more stringent bond or insurance standards of SBEs than required of other business enterprises.

  • Use of Verizon Telecommunications Services 2.1 Verizon Telecommunications Services may be purchased by Z-Tel under this Resale Attachment only for the purpose of resale by Z-Tel as a Telecommunications Carrier. Verizon Telecommunications Services to be purchased by Z-Tel for other purposes (including, but not limited to, Z-Tel’s own use) must be purchased by Z-Tel pursuant to other applicable Attachments to this Agreement (if any), or separate written agreements, including, but not limited to, applicable Verizon Tariffs. 2.2 Z-Tel shall not resell: 2.2.1 Residential service to persons not eligible to subscribe to such service from Verizon (including, but not limited to, business or other nonresidential Customers); 2.2.2 Lifeline, Link Up America, or other means-tested service offerings, to persons not eligible to subscribe to such service offerings from Verizon; 2.2.3 Grandfathered or discontinued service offerings to persons not eligible to subscribe to such service offerings from Verizon; or 2.2.4 Any other Verizon service in violation of a restriction stated in this Agreement (including, but not limited to, a Verizon Tariff) that is not prohibited by Applicable Law. 2.2.5 In addition to any other actions taken by Z-Tel to comply with this Section 2.2, Z-Tel shall take those actions required by Applicable Law to determine the eligibility of Z-Tel Customers to purchase a service, including, but not limited to, obtaining any proof or certification of eligibility to purchase Lifeline, Link Up America, or other means-tested services, required by Applicable Law. Z-Tel shall indemnify Verizon from any Claims resulting from Z-Tel’s failure to take such actions required by Applicable Law. 2.2.6 Verizon may perform audits to confirm Z-Tel’s conformity to the provisions of this Section 2.2. Such audits may be performed twice per calendar year and shall be performed in accordance with Sections 4.4.2 through 4.4.4 of the General Terms and Conditions. 2.3 Z-Tel shall be subject to the same limitations that Verizon’s Customers are subject to with respect to any Telecommunications Service that Verizon grandfathers or discontinues offering. Without limiting the foregoing, except to the extent that Verizon follows a different practice for Verizon Customers in regard to a grandfathered Telecommunications Service, such grandfathered Telecommunications Service: (a) shall be available only to a Customer that already has such Telecommunications Service; (b) may not be moved to a new service location; and, (c) will be furnished only to the extent that facilities continue to be available to provide such Telecommunications Service. 2.4 Z-Tel shall not be eligible to participate in any Verizon plan or program under which Verizon Customers may obtain products or services which are not Verizon Telecommunications Services, in return for trying, agreeing to purchase, purchasing, or using, Verizon Telecommunications Services. 2.5 In accordance with 47 CFR § 51.617(b), Verizon shall be entitled to all charges for Verizon Exchange Access services used by interexchange carriers to provide service to Z-Tel Customers.

  • Emergency Assistance Both Parties shall exercise due diligence to avoid or mitigate an Emergency to the extent practical in accordance with applicable requirements imposed by the Standards Authority or contained in the PJM Tariffs and NYISO Tariffs. In avoiding or mitigating an Emergency, both Parties shall strive to allow for commercial remedies, but if commercial remedies are not successful or practical, the Parties agree to be the suppliers of last resort to maintain reliability on the system. For each hour during which Emergency conditions exist in a Party’s Balancing Authority Area, that Party (while still ensuring operations within applicable Reliability Standards) shall determine what commercial remedies are available and make use of those that are practical and needed to avoid or mitigate the Emergency before any Emergency Energy is scheduled in that hour.

  • Rental Assistance (Subsidy) Rental assistance will be provided to Eligible Households who pay 30% of their monthly net income, including Florida unemployment benefits, towards their monthly rent and have experienced a loss of job or income due to COVID-19.

  • Technical Assistance DFPS may provide informal support, guidance, clarification, and other forms of technical assistance via phone, email, and virtual meeting to resolve Grant or performance compliance issues. Grantee will document all such instances of technical assistance by DFPS in writing, including any implementation work.

  • Educational Assistance Section 1. Tuition reimbursement shall be provided to employees covered by this collective bargaining AGREEMENT under the same terms and conditions, policies and procedures as the rest of Hennepin County and reflecting a county–wide pool for funding. See Hennepin County Tuition Reimbursement Policy Frequently Asked Questions Section 2. Where courses are required and certified by the appointing authority as essential to current job performance, such appointing authority shall grant 100% reimbursement for tuition, required fees and required study materials. Section 3. At the request of an employee, an Individual Development Plan shall be established. Any employee making the request shall be provided with paid time to work with their Supervisor or Human Resources to develop a training plan for career development within Hennepin County. Human Resources will be a source of career information, and postings, in which the employee may have an interest. Time allotted for this activity and the training plan adopted shall be subject to mutual agreement of the Employee and Supervisor.

  • Information and Services Required of the Owner The Owner shall provide information with reasonable promptness, regarding requirements for and limitations on the Project, including a written program which shall set forth the Owner’s objectives, constraints, and criteria, including schedule, space requirements and relationships, flexibility and expandability, special equipment, systems, sustainability and site requirements.
