Alcohol and Other Drugs. 1. Alcohol may not be consumed in common areas of University Housing, such as hallways, lounges, bathrooms and outdoors, regardless of age. 2. Open containers of alcohol such as cups containing alcohol, opened cans or bottles of alcohol may not be possessed in public regardless of age. Students over 21 years old may only transport alcohol in sealed containers through public areas. 3. Kegs and other “common source” containers holding alcoholic beverages are not allowed in University Housing. 4. Alcohol containers may not be displayed in windows where containers will be visible to the public. 5. Medical cannabis cards do not provide an exception to the University prohibition of using and/or possessing cannabis on University property. Using and/or possessing recreational cannabis is also prohibited on University property. Residents are encouraged to contact college staff with questions relating to medicinal or recreational cannabis. 6. Vape pens, hookah pens and similar devices are not allowed in University housing.

Alcohol and Other Drugs. Regardless of a person’s age, the manufacture, sale, transfer, purchase, transportation, possession, use or consumption of alcohol (in any form), and/or possession or display of empty alcohol beverage containers anywhere on NDSCS owned or controlled property and/or sponsored or supervised events is prohibited. Students may face campus charges for alcohol related incidents occurring off campus. Such incidents include, but are not limited to: minor in possession/consumption/under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol, public consumption of alcohol, and providing alcohol to a minor. Possession, consumption, being under the influence, or transport of illegal drugs or any other controlled substances is prohibited except pursuant to a physician’s, dentist’s or other authorized medical personnel’s prescriptions. The manufacture, exchange, distribution, purchase or sale of illegal drugs or controlled substance is prohibited. The possession of drug paraphernalia for illegal drug use is prohibited as well. i. Any individual found in a room in which the alcohol policy is being violated, whether participating or not, may be charged with a violation of the NDSCS Guide to Student Rights & Responsibilities due to violation of this policy.
Alcohol and Other Drugs. All students are required to abide by Massachusetts State law, city ordinances, and MCPHS policies regarding alcohol. Illegal drugs, substances, and paraphernalia are prohibited on MCPHS property including in MCPHS housing facilities. Any violation identified will result in confiscation and disciplinary action. Note: Requests for possession and/or consumption of alcohol by students of legal age who live in the Emmanuel Residence Hall must be approved by the Office of Residential Living and Learning. Alcohol and Other Drugs. The College follows all federal, state, and local laws regarding the possession and use of alcohol and other controlled substances on campus. Please refer to the “Alcohol and Other Drug Policies” section of the Student Handbook for detailed provisions. Campus buildings are smoke-free. Smoking and the use of tobacco in any form is prohibited in all facilities of Elizabethtown College at all locations, including College vehicles. Additionally, the Xxxxxxx Student Center terrace areas, all athletic venues and outdoor classrooms are smoke-free zones. This policy applies to all students, employees, clients, contractors, and visitors. Smoking shall be permitted only at a reasonable distance (20 feet or more) outside any enclosed area or building entrance so as to ensure that secondhand smoke does not enter the area through entrances, windows, ventilation systems, or any other means. Smokers must dispose of cigarette butts in appropriate receptacles rather than littering. Weapons, firearms, and explosive devices are restricted. This restriction includes but is not limited to: use, possession, or storage of weapons, firearms, and other dangerous articles or substances including any weapon prohibited by local, state or federal law. Please refer to the Standards of Conduct section of the Student Handbook for detailed provisions. You should follow all fire safety policies outlined in the Student Handbook. This includes, but is not limited to, small appliances/electric devices, fireworks, fire safety equipment, fire drills and health and safety inspections. Please refer to the Residence Life section of the Student Handbook for detailed provisions. Information regarding check-in and checkout dates and procedures can be found on the Residence Life website as well as in memos distributed by Residence Life staff. You may not check-in to your assigned campus housing before the published date of move-in for each semester, without permission from the Office of Residence Life. You must receive a key from the Office of Residence Life or Campus Security prior to moving in. When checking out of campus housing, you must complete all required procedures. These include cleaning your room and any related common areas, removing of all personal items from campus, returning keys, completing a room checkout form with a staff member of the Office of Residence Life. Failure to checkout properly will result in a $50.00 improper checkout fee.

The exchange of money, property, or services in any gambling is prohibited.

Here is a sample list of expectations that will, if violated, result in termination from my RA position: A. All RAs in regard to alcohol and drugs: i. I will not consume alcohol while on-duty or performing other duties in relation to my RA position. ii. I will not possess, use, or produce false identification. iii. I will not purchase or supply alcohol for persons under 21. iv. I will not consume alcohol with underage staff members or students. v. I will not possess or use illegal drugs. B. Underage RAs: i. I will not possess, consume, or distribute alcohol per state law. C. RAs over 21: i. I will not accompany any underage staff members or students to a bar or party and consume alcohol. ii. I will not consume alcohol and then attempt to handle crisis situations. Instead, I will contact another RA to confront the situation if necessary. iii. I will not purchase or supply alcohol for persons under 21. iv. If after consuming alcohol on-campus or off-campus, I will go straight to my room and limit my interactions with others to an absolute minimum upon returning to my hall. v. I will notify my supervisor if I have consumed alcohol and am not able to respond to an emergency situation when asked. vi. I will exercise responsible drinking as an RA, and know that I am always a role model and mentor.
