Common use of Current Employees Who Transfer Clause in Contracts

Current Employees Who Transfer. If a current employee transfers into a position of a higher pay level, they shall be placed at the lowest pay level for that position or the closest to a 5% increase from the position which the person has transferred, whichever is greater. If the new step is less than step 5, the employee may be credited up to five (5) years of related experience. If an employee transfers to a different position within the bargaining unit with substantially different job responsibilities (such as a custodian to a paraprofessional), the employee shall be placed under probation for a period of ninety (90) calendar days as recommended by the supervising administrator.
