Data update (handling. ‌ This service allows users and the system to update data related to devices, sensors and users, and performs update of these data. The physical entities within this service are failure devices, alarm about abnormal behavior of observed phenomena and list of users that attend the meeting. This information is virtual entities saved in corresponding entities. This service encompasses a set of Use Cases that provides the users/system with capabilities to update and retrieve appropriate data. For example, after receiving information about the exact location and type of alarm, system operator goes to the location and after arrival at the source of the alarm detects a false alarm was raised: the real problem is a malfunctioning temperature sensor. Through the Safety and Maintenance App, the operator acknowledges the alert to the Safety and Management Tool so that the invoked alarm devices are switched off again (update of virtual entity in local CMS). The system operator identifies that the device has failed and orders a new device at mobile client. Mobile device sends the order request to Safety and Management Tool (SaaS). Safety and Management Tool sends order to Smart Things Information Service (STIS) in the cloud. The EPC code of the new device is stored in the Safety and Management Tool. The Safety and Management Tool uses the Smart Things Information Service to keep track of the delivery state of the device. The device arrives and the system operator installs the device and closes the ticket in the Safety and Management Tool (system operator manually updates the virtual entity in Safety Server). CMS Safety Server Finally, there is the case when an employee plans a meeting using a Meeting Reservation Tool. The Meeting Reservation Tool further configures access to the meeting room and makes the list of attendees (virtual entities). For all attendees, the Meeting Reservation Tool therefore, keeps a list of RFID tag values enabled for door access and belonging to a corresponding badge which is provided to meeting attendees at arrival time at the office entrance.
