Common use of Definition of Qualifications Clause in Contracts

Definition of Qualifications. 1. In this Article, "necessary qualifications" in respect of a teaching position means a reasonable expectation based on the whole of the teacher's: a. certification; b. pre and in-service training relevant to the position; c. relevant teaching or work experience; d. record of teaching accomplishment and demonstrated skills; e. formal education at the university level; f. evidence of ability to perform the duties of the position; that the teacher will be able to perform the professional responsibilities of the position in a satisfactory manner. 2. Should any question be raised by the teacher and the Union as to whether a teacher does have or does not have the necessary qualifications for a particular teaching position, the question shall be referred to the Grievance Procedure in Article A.6, beginning at the Joint Committee stage.
