Common use of Denial of Merit Pay Increase Clause in Contracts

Denial of Merit Pay Increase. 10.7.2.1 If an officer receives a performance evaluation stating that their performance and competence is substandard, the Employer may withhold the merit pay increase. If the Employer denies a merit pay increase, the officer will be noticed in writing of the specific reasons for the denial. The officer may request a review of this denial by the Department/Division head, or designee, within ten (10) calendar days of receipt of the notice of denial.
