Disciplinary Procedure – General Outline. 17.2.1 Discipline shall be imposed upon employees only for just cause. Disciplinary action is deemed to be any action in which the Administration recommends the dismissal, demotion, suspension without pay, or a reduction in hours or classification or reassignment without the employee’s voluntary consent, except for a layoff for lack of work or lack of funds. This procedure does not apply to verbal or written warnings, instructions, or to letters of reprimand.
