Dismissal/Referral of a Formal Complaint. When the Title IX Coordinator receives a Formal Complaint, or where new information or events arise, the Title IX Coordinator will assess whether the Formal Complaint meets the requirements of the Federal Regulations to move forward under the process in this Track. A determination that allegations in a Formal Complaint do not meet the requirements of the Federal Regulations will result in a dismissal of the allegations in the Formal Complaint that do not meet the requirements and, in some cases, a referral of the allegations to another process as the campus may have an obligation to address the matter under other laws and policies. The Federal Regulations require two types of dismissals: mandatory and discretionary.

  • Complaint Procedure If an employee has a complaint, which is not a proper subject for a grievance under the grievance procedure, the employee may discuss it with their immediate supervisor. The employee may submit the complaint in writing. If necessary, the employee may also discuss the complaint with the Director of Staff Relations.
