Double Coverage Opt Out. When a bargaining unit member and their spouse/domestic partner are both employed by the District and therefore are able to be covered by the District's insurance program under the remaining employee's eligibility, one of the employees may "opt out" of their coverage and be covered under the remaining employee's eligibility. In such cases, the District will fully pay the premium for the remaining employee up to the combined cap amount for the two employees. This may occur only to the extent permitted by the insurance carrier.
