DRIVER UNION STEWARDS. The Union assures that it will maintain a minimum of five (5) stewards and shall inform the District of who they are. In matters involving discipline, the Director or immediate supervisor will arrange for a xxxxxxx to be present. The employee may refuse Union representation by acknowledging such in writing. When ten (10) or more summer assignments will be filled during the summer work period, at least one (I) of such position shall be awarded to a Union Xxxxxxx, who will normally be the Senior Xxxxxxx, unless none of the designated Union Stewards desires to work during the summer work period. The Xxxxxxx shall be given only such extra seniority to allow him/her to accept the last available assignment. By June 1 of each year, the Union shall notify the Transportation Director or his designee in writing of who shall be considered the Senior Xxxxxxx for purposes of this paragraph.
