Common use of Dues and Assessments Clause in Contracts

Dues and Assessments. (a) The Employer shall, beginning on the first pay date, deduct from the wages of each employee in the bargaining unit, the amount of the regular dues payable to the Union by members of the Union. Each employee shall provide the Employer, as a condition of continued employment, with written authorization to make such deductions. (b) The Union shall advise the Employer, in writing, of the amount of its regular monthly dues. The amount so advised shall continue to be the amount to be deducted until changed by written notice to the Employer signed by the President of the Union. Upon receipt of such notice the changed amount shall be the amount deducted.
