Common use of Duration of Pregnancy Leave Clause in Contracts

Duration of Pregnancy Leave. The pregnancy leave of a Member shall end on the later of: a) the day that is seventeen (17) weeks after the pregnancy leave began; or b) the day that is six (6) weeks after the birth, still birth or miscarriage. In the case where a newborn child is hospitalized, a Member may, following the day that is six (6) weeks after the birth of the child, postpone her pregnancy leave by the number of weeks the child is hospitalized but must be taken within the fifty-two (52) weeks from the date of the birth of the child.
