Common use of Duration of the Probationary Period Clause in Contracts

Duration of the Probationary Period. All new employees shall be required to complete successfully a working test during a probationary period as follows: A. Employees shall serve a probationary period of six (6) months for original appointments. B. Any bargaining unit employee who is promoted or transferred to a new position shall serve a probationary period of three (3) months in the new position. The employee shall be evaluated by the new supervisor at least twice in the first month and once each month thereafter during the probationary period. Such employee may voluntarily return to his/her former position within the first month of probation. The supervisor may return the employee to his/her former position at the end of the three (3) month probationary period if the written evaluations show the employee is not performing well in the new position.
