DUTY EXPENSES Sample Clauses
The DUTY EXPENSES clause assigns responsibility for paying customs duties, taxes, and related charges that arise from the import or export of goods under the contract. Typically, this clause specifies whether the buyer or seller is liable for these expenses, depending on the agreed delivery terms or Incoterms. For example, if goods are shipped internationally, the clause clarifies who must pay import tariffs or customs clearance fees. Its core function is to prevent disputes by clearly allocating financial responsibility for duty-related costs, ensuring both parties understand their obligations.
