Effect on Retirement. The acceptance or rejection of severance pay shall have no effect on vested pension rights under the Retirement Act. The parties agree that the severance payment shall not be included in the computation of compensation for the purpose of calculating retirement benefits and will seek and support statutory change if such legislation is necessary to so provide.

Effect on Retirement. No Option under this Contract shall be deemed compensation for purposes of computing benefits under any retirement plan nor affect any benefits under any other benefit plan now or hereafter in effect under which the availability or amount of benefits is related to the level of compensation.
Effect on Retirement. Service for retirement will be credited in the proportion the compensation paid during leave bears to the compensation the unit member would have received had s/he been employed on a full-time basis. The District's STRS contribution will be prorated and based on the compensation paid. A unit member may receive full-time service credit for the period of a sabbatical leave providing s/he pays to STRS additional contributions based on the compensation that is the difference between compensation earned and the compensation earnable during the period of Sabbatical Leave. In this case, the unit member shall make a full contribution based on the unit member's earnable pay and also pay the difference between the District's prorated contribution and the full contribution the District would have made had the unit member continued in full-time service.
Effect on Retirement. Time on the following leaves counts as service toward retirement in the same proportion as the salary received: Illness (if paid), Industrial Accident, Military, Sabbatical, Exchange (if paid by the Los Angeles Community College District).
