Employees hired after June 1, 1995, may be assigned to 8-hour positions without limitation provided they meet the qualifications for an 8-hour position as determined by the Chief and such qualified employees will be assigned in preference over employees hired prior to June 1, 1995, in the absence of qualified volunteers.

Eight Hour Shift. Employees who are a straight eight hour shift basis, other than those who their meal on the job, shall receive ten period and minute lunch period in each shift. If the work period is five hours or less, the employee shall only qualify for the rest period or lunch period whichever normally comes first but not both. Deviations from the normally scheduled rest periods and lunch breaks shall not exceed one hour. shall qualify for a one-half hour paid meal break meal, if scheduled to in excess of one served a free meal on paid time will not punch out until the work period has been completed. The paid time for free meals will not be as worked in calculating when an employee qualifies for any additional rest periods or meals. When the over- time work period exceeds two and one-half hours after the first free meal, an employee shall qualify for one ten minute rest period and if the overtime work exceeds five hours, be provided if possible, and one-half hour of paid time for the meal. Seventh or Statutory Holiday and Emergency Call-Ins Employees will qualify for a ten minute rest period when working more than two and one-half hours in any part or when working more than two and one-half hours following a free meal. Employees who work more than five hours on their or seventh Statutory Holiday, or on an emergency call-in, will be provided with a free meal, if possible, and allowed one-half hour of paid time for the meal. Employees will qualify for a second free meal five hours the first free meal. Employees served a free on paid time will not punch out until the work period has been completed, however, the paid lime for free meals will not be as time worked in calculating when an employee qualifies for additional rest periods or meals.
