Electrical testing. 6.5.1 All temporary electrical installations set up be the Company on sites will conform to the following Codes of Practice under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations (“OH&S Act”) (as amended from time to time); • Electrical Practices for Construction Work • Low Voltage Electrical Work 6.5.2 All flexible extension cords, portable tools and electrical plant used on voltages above 32 volts will be inspected tested and tagged monthly by a licensed electrician in accordance with details set out in the Codes of Practice. All extension cords, portable tools, electrical plant brought on to the site by the Company will bear the correct monthly tag. The Company will keep a log book of all inspections of the equipment. The Principal’s representative shall be able to inspect these log books on a random basis to ensure that safety requirements are being adhered to. Any equipment found without a valid inspection tag will be disconnected and removed from the site until the equipment has been re-inspected and a new inspection tag attached. All temporary electrical work and installations must confirm to the OH&S Act, and the Electrical Safety Act 1995 (as amended from time to time). All welding units shall be fitted with either a voltage reduction device (VRD) in accordance with the provisions of AS 1674 or a trigger switch that opens the welding circuit unless it is closed complying with AS 1674.

Electrical testing. Prior to completion of the work, the Contractor shall cause the following tests to be made on any or all new electrical circuits, as required by the Engineer and in the presence of the Maintaining Agency representative: 1. Test for continuity of each circuit. 2. A visual inspection of all grounding connections. A megohmeter test on each single conductor circuit between the circuit conductor and all other circuits and ground as specified in the Contract Documents and directed by the Engineer. a. The insulation resistance shall not be less than 500 megohms when tested at 500 volts. b. Individual conductors in traffic signal cable, RF cable, Opticom cable, CCTV power cable, communications cable, other multi-conductor cables, and coaxial cables shall be exempted from the megohm testing by the Engineer if a visual inspection of these cables shows no suspicious cuts, tears, or other damage to the outside insulation. c. Under no circumstances shall street light fixtures, video detection cameras, or other low voltage components be subjected to the high voltage of this test. 4. A flash test for traffic signal installations to verify the terminals and connections before turn-on. 5. A functional test in which it is demonstrated that all parts of the system function as specified or intended. 6. Any fault in any material or in any part of the installation revealed by these tests shall be replaced or repaired by the Contractor immediately. All repairs and material replacements shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Engineer.

  • Meter Testing Company shall provide at least twenty-four (24) hours' notice to Seller prior to any test it may perform on the revenue meters or metering equipment. Seller shall have the right to have a representative present during each such test. Seller may request, and Company shall perform, if requested, tests in addition to the every fifth-year test and Seller shall pay the cost of such tests. Company may, in its sole discretion, perform tests in addition to the fifth year test and Company shall pay the cost of such tests. If any of the revenue meters or metering equipment is found to be inaccurate at any time, as determined by testing in accordance with this Section 10.2 (Meter Testing), Company shall promptly cause such equipment to be made accurate, and the period of inaccuracy, as well as an estimate for correct meter readings, shall be determined in accordance with Section 10.3 (Corrections).

  • ODUF Testing 6.6.1 Upon request from TWTC, AT&T shall send ODUF test files to TWTC. The Parties agree to review and discuss the ODUF file content and/or format. For testing of usage results, AT&T shall request that TWTC set up a production (live) file. The live test may consist of TWTC’s employees making test calls for the types of services TWTC requests on ODUF. These test calls are logged by TWTC, and the logs are provided to AT&T. These logs will be used to verify the files. Testing will be completed within thirty (30) days from the date on which the initial test file was sent.

  • Installation, Maintenance, Testing and Repair Unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Parties, to the extent required by Applicable Law, Interconnection provided by a Party shall be equal in quality to that provided by such Party to itself, any subsidiary, affiliates or third party. If either Party is unable to fulfill its obligations under this Section 14.2, it shall notify the other Party of its inability to do so and will negotiate alternative intervals in good faith. The Parties agree that to the extent required by Applicable Law, the standards to be used by a Party for isolating and clearing any disconnections and/or other outages or troubles shall be at parity with standards used by such Party with respect to itself, any subsidiary, affiliate or third party.

  • Electrical appliance safety The Hirer shall ensure that any electrical appliances brought by them to the premises and used there shall be safe, in good working order, and used in a safe manner in accordance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. Where a residual circuit breaker is provided the hirer must make use of it in the interests of public safety.

  • Random Testing Notwithstanding any provisions of the Collective Agreement or any special agreements appended thereto, section 4.6 of the Canadian Model will not be applied by agreement. If applied to a worker dispatched by the Union, it will be applied or deemed to be applied unilaterally by the Employer. The Union retains the right to grieve the legality of any imposition of random testing in accordance with the Grievance Procedure set out in this Collective Agreement.

  • Alcohol Testing Alcohol testing will be conducted by using an evidential breath-testing device (EBT) approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. A screening test will be conducted first. This initial screening may be accomplished using a saliva test kit. If the result is an alcohol concentration level of less than 0.02 percent, the test is considered a negative test. If the alcohol concentration level is 0.02 percent or more, a second confirmation test using the EBT will be conducted. The procedures that will be utilized by the lab for collection and testing of the specimen are attached hereto as Appendix A.

  • Electrical Service Electrical service for new construction or a renovated existing building shall be 480/277-volt, 3-phase, 4-wire or approved equal. Service shall be sized for HVAC and other mechanical system(s) loads, lighting, general building services, and dedicated computer based office equipment loads. 5 xxxxx per square foot shall be provided for lighting and general service receptacles. Size of neutral conductor of 3- phase circuits shall be twice that of phase conductor to accommodate potential harmonic currents associated with computer system electronic power supplies and fluorescent lighting fixtures electronic ballasts.

  • Substance Abuse Testing The Parties agree that it is in the best interest of all concerned to promote a safe working environment. The Union has no objection to pre-employment substance abuse testing when required by the Employer and further, the Union has no objection to voluntary substance abuse testing to qualify for employment on projects when required by a project owner. The cost and scheduling of such testing shall be paid for and arranged by the Employer. The Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for any failed pre-access Alcohol and Drug test costs.

  • Electrical Equipment Residents must use only CSA, UL-approved or Canadian-certified electrical equipment; the rated wattage of light fixtures must never be exceeded; and only replacement bulbs supplied by Waterloo maintenance staff may be used. Do not leave any unattended electrical equipment turned on (i.e. hair straighteners, lights etc.)
