Distant Workers. 7.3.1 A distant worker is an Employee working at such a distance from the Employee’s usual place of residence that it is impracticable for the Employee to return home each evening (60 km). 7.3.2 The Company will ensure that each prospective Employee makes a declaration of Usual Place of Residence upon application for employment and that each prospective Employee is briefed on the consequences of this declaration. (An Employee’s address on the electoral roll is an acceptable form of proof.)

The Company will provide a Living Away From Home Allowance of $375.00 per week. This allowance may be pro-rated per day worked when and if required; this amount will be $53.55 per day.

Distant Workers. 8.3.1. Prior to commencing employment under this Agreement, the Employer shall determine whether the Employee shall is correctly defined as a "distant worker" or "local worker". The Employer is entitled to request such information as is necessary to make this determination. The appropriate definition shall be shown on the Employer’s records when the Employee completes the Application Format the pre-­‐employment interview or equivalent. 8.3.2. In determining "usual place of residence" the Employer shall obtain, and the applicant for employment shall provide a statement in writing of residence, at the time of engagement, provided that documentary evidence of the applicant’s usual place of residence, such as a motor driver’s licence may be provided and accepted in lieu of the statement in writing. 8.3.3. The Employee’s usual place of residence and not the place of employment shall determine the applicability of this clause. 8.3.4. An Employee shall notify the Employer in writing of any subsequent change to their usual place of residence. Any subsequent change of to their usual place of residence shall not entitle a local worker to be reclassified as a distant worker unless the Employer agrees. Where such a change results in the Employee no longer falling within the definition of a distant worker, that Employee shall cease to have an entitlement to receiving the related allowance. 8.3.5. The Employer shall not, under any circumstances, attempt to persuade or induce applicants for employment to provide a local address as the usual place of residence in an effort to avoid the Employer’s obligations under this clause. 8.3.6. It shall be sufficient grounds for termination that an Employee provides false and/or misleading information as to their place of residence.
Distant Workers. (a) For the purposes of this Agreement, where Employees cannot reasonably return to their usual place of residence each night, the Employees concerned shall be classified as “distant workers”. (b) Employees working on distant projects will either be provided with reasonable board or lodging, or paid an appropriate allowance. (c) It is agreed that Employees will not be financially disadvantaged and will be fully compensated for agreed expenses. (d) As a guide only, distant workers will generally be required to work a fly in / fly out roster of two (2) weeks of rostered shifts followed by seven (7) consecutive days off duty. (i) The Employer may implement any form of ordinary time rosters (with reasonable additional hours to be determined within those rosters) which are required to meet the needs of any Project, including twelve (12) hour shifts. (ii) The Employer shall notify employees of any change in the roster. Any changes to the roster will only be made upon giving one (1) week’s notice unless in the case of an operational emergency, or by agreement with the majority of Employees.. (iii) The Employer, and its Employees agree that different rosters may be applied to different projects, and to the work being performed on those Projects. (iv) The period of rostered time off, as determined by the work schedule, is unpaid. (v) Any applicable travelling allowances have been incorporated into the loaded rate of pay. The employer will provide transport to the work sites. (e) Intrastate, interstate and overseas travel undertaken as a requirement of the position will be either paid, or reimbursed, by the employer.

  • Distant Work Employees who are in receipt of Living Away from Home Allowance will be eligible for the allowances provided for in this clause, subject to Appendix H– Living Away from Home Allowance.

  • Assistant Treasurer The Assistant Treasurer, or if there shall be more than one, the Assistant Treasurers in the order determined by the Trustees (or if there be no such determination, then in the order of their election), shall, in the absence of the Treasurer or in the event of his inability or refusal to act, perform the duties and exercise the powers of the Treasurer and shall perform such other duties and have such other powers as the Board of Trustees may from time to time prescribe.

  • Assistant Treasurers The Assistant Treasurers will, in the absence or disability of the Treasurer, perform the duties and exercise the powers of the Treasurer and will perform such other duties and have such other powers as the Board of Managers may from time to time prescribe.

  • Assistant Secretary The Assistant Secretary, or if there be more than one, the Assistant Secretaries in the order determined by the Trustees (or if there be no determination, then in the order of their election), shall, in the absence of the Secretary or in the event of his inability or refusal to act, perform the duties and exercise the powers of the Secretary and shall perform such other duties and have such other powers as the Board of Trustees may from time to time prescribe.

  • Assistant Professor An Assistant Professor is a member of a Faculty of the University who shall ordinarily have the following minimum qualifications: (a) A doctoral degree; (b) Aptitude for teaching university students. The doctoral requirement may be waived if the Candidate has a record of suitable teaching, scholarship as defined in Article 1.1(n); or, in lieu of such a record, has professional qualifications and experience to enable him/her to make an appropriate academic contribution to the University.

  • Assistant Treasurers and Assistant Secretaries The assistant treasurers and assistant secretaries shall perform such duties as shall be assigned to them by the treasurer or the secretary, respectively, or by the chairman and chief executive officer, the president or the Management Committee.

  • Industrial Relations Training Leave Union Delegate/Employee Representative shall have access to industrial relations training in accordance with Appendix E hereof.

  • Treasurer; Assistant Treasurer The Treasurer shall be the chief financial and accounting officer of the Trust, and shall, subject to the provisions of the Declaration of Trust and to any arrangement made by the Trustees with a custodian, investment adviser, sub-adviser or manager, or transfer, shareholder servicing or similar agent, be in charge of the valuable papers, books of account and accounting records of the Trust, and shall have such other duties and powers as may be designated from time to time by the Trustees or by the President. Any Assistant Treasurer shall have such duties and powers as may be designated from time to time by the Trustees or the President.

  • Secretary; Assistant Secretary The Secretary shall record all proceedings of the Shareholders and the Trustees in books to be kept therefor, which books or a copy thereof shall be kept at the principal office of the Trust. In the absence of the Secretary from any meeting of the Shareholders or Trustees, an Assistant Secretary, or if there be none or if he or she is absent, a temporary secretary chosen at such meeting shall record the proceedings thereof in the aforesaid books. Any Assistant Secretary shall have such duties and powers as may be designated from time to time by the Trustees or the President.

  • Assistant Secretaries Except as may be otherwise provided in this Agreement, Assistant Secretaries, if there are any, shall perform such duties and have such powers as from time to time may be assigned to them by the Member, the President, any Vice President, if there are any appointed, or the Secretary, and in the absence of the Secretary or in the event of his disability or refusal to act, shall perform the duties of the Secretary, and when so acting, shall have all the powers of and be subject to all the restrictions upon the Secretary.
