Embankment Stability and Deformation Analyses. Slope stability analyses will be performed of the final design configuration of the embankment geometry using the two-dimensional limit equilibrium computer program, UTexas4 or SLOPE/W. Material characterization will be developed for the embankment and foundation materials based on laboratory testing conducted as part of the Phase II and Phase III geotechnical investigation programs. Up to five cross sections will be evaluated. The following loading cases will be analyzed: long-term steady state seepage, end-of- construction, flood, rapid-drawdown, and seismic loading conditions. The during- construction load case will be evaluated in later design phases to evaluate construction sequence and phasing requirements. • Seismic analyses will utilize the site-specific seismic hazard characterization developed in 2019. In addition to the seismic stability evaluated using the limit equilibrium method, seismic deformations will be evaluated using the two- dimensional nonlinear finite difference FLAC computer program. The FLAC analysis will be performed for a single agreed-upon return period (e.g. MCE or 5,000-year event). Three horizontal time history records will be developed for the selected return period.   • Geological and Archeological Specimens If, during the execution of the Work, the Contractor, any Subcontractor, or any servant, employee, or agent of either should uncover any valuable material or materials, such as, but not limited to, treasure trove, geological specimens, archival material, archeological specimens, or ore, the Contractor acknowledges that title to the foregoing is vested in the Owner. The Contractor shall notify the Owner upon the discovery of any of the foregoing, shall take reasonable steps to safeguard it, and seek further instruction from the Design Professional.   • COUNTY’S QUALITY ASSURANCE PLAN The County or its agent will evaluate the Contractor’s performance under this Contract on not less than an annual basis. Contractor deficiencies which the County determines are severe or continuing and that may place performance of the Contract in jeopardy if not corrected will be reported to the Board of Supervisors. The report will include improvement/corrective action measures taken by the County and the Contractor. If improvement does not occur consistent with the corrective action measures, the County may terminate this Contract or impose other penalties as specified in this Contract.

A Contracting Party may allow representatives of the competent authority of the other Contracting Party to enter the territory of the first-mentioned Party to interview individuals and examine records with the written consent of the persons concerned.
