Emergency Shelf-Stable Meals are offered to participants of both Congregate and Home-Delivered Meals programs and must meet a minimum one-third of the Dietary Reference Intake, shall comply with dietary guidelines for Americans, and shall be accompanied with instructions for safe storage and reheating. Emergency shelf stable meals are not to be used in place of Emergency Earthquake Meals.
