Common use of Employees with Fixed Term Appointments Clause in Contracts

Employees with Fixed Term Appointments. Fixed term employees who meet the eligibility requirements as described in this clause will have the same entitlements as those for continuing employees. However, if the fixed term contract expires during the eligible period of parental leave the contract term will not be extended for this purpose. In the event that the fixed term contract expires during the period of leave this will be treated as a normal expiry of the contract. The employee will cease to be an employee at this point and therefore not entitled to further parental leave unless re-employed and meeting the entitlement criteria.
