Common use of Employer Right to Discipline Clause in Contracts

Employer Right to Discipline. The right to exercise discipline for just cause is vested exclusively in the Employer; provided that an employee who has been disciplined will be advised of the reason or reasons for such action. The level of discipline imposed shall be based on the nature and severity of the infraction. Disciplinary action challenged by the employee or the Union as not in conformance with this Agreement, may be grieved as provided in Article 15, however, disciplinary dismissals may only be challenged as provided in Section 11.6.
