Environmental and Energy Efficient Products. The Contractor disclosed that it does not use environmental and energy efficient products at this time. If the Contractor provides energy efficient products in the future, the Contractor must provide certifications to the State if requested. If there are changes in the environmental and energy efficient products, the Contractor must notify the Contract Administrator, Contract Manager, and Program Manager by email and identify any energy efficient, bio-based, or otherwise environmentally friendly products used in the products. CONTRACTOR’S PRODUCTS Contractor encourages and participates in sustainable practices by selecting environmental-friendly companies to manufacture our products. These companies strive for energy efficiency by measuring their greenhouse gas emissions and developing a reduction strategy, as well as including energy-efficient features in their products. All of Contractor’s products are Restrictions of Use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant. Contractor’s manufacturer participates in several environmental sustainability and recycling programs to reduce our impact on the environment. All packaging for Contractor’s products is recyclable; however, Contractor’s products are not shipped in material containing recycled content. The ExpressVote system does not use ink, toner, or paper rolls and consumes 70 percent less paper than traditional ballots. The DS200 internal power supply is certified to meet Energy Star/CEC Level VI compliancy. The ExpressVote internal power supply is certified to meet Energy Star V/ErP (Stage 2)/MEPS V compliancy. The DS450 power supply is not EnergyStar rated. CONTRACTOR’S ORGANIZATION Waste Minimization Contractor supports environmental awareness by encouraging recycling and waste management in its business practices and operating procedures. This support includes a commitment to the purchase, use, and disposal of products and materials in a manner that will best utilize natural resources and minimize any negative impact on the earth's environment. Special recycling receptacles have been set up to promote the severance and collection of the following recyclable materials at Contractor’s organization including computer paper, white high grade or bond paper, newspaper and aluminum cans. Energy Efficiency Contractor promotes energy efficiency in the use of electricity, natural gas and other energy sources. Contractor’s IT policy requires that each employee shut down computers and laptops at the end of each day to conserve power. In addition, Contractor has urged their building property manager to install energy efficient lighting in all of the Contractor’s building and offices in the Omaha corporate complex. The Connecting Transmission Owner for the Transmission District to which the wind generating plant will be interconnected and the wind plant Developer shall determine what SCADA information is essential for the proposed wind plant, taking into account the size of the plant and its characteristics, location, and importance in maintaining generation resource adequacy and transmission system reliability in its area.

  • Geometric visibility The visibility of the illuminating surface, including its visibility in areas which do not appear to be illuminated in the direction of observation considered, shall be ensured within a divergent space defined by generating lines based on the perimeter of the illuminating surface and forming an angle of not less than 5° with the axis of reference of the headlamp. The origin of the angles of geometric visibility is the perimeter of the projection of the illuminating surface on a transverse plane tangent to the foremost part of the lens of the headlamp.

  • Environmental Tobacco Smoke Public Law 103-227 (also known as the Pro-Children Act of 1994) and Vermont’s Act 135 (2014) (An act relating to smoking in lodging establishments, hospitals, and child care facilities, and on State lands) restrict the use of tobacco products in certain settings. Party shall ensure that no person is permitted: (i) to use tobacco products or tobacco substitutes as defined in 7 V.S.A. § 1001 on the premises, both indoor and outdoor, of any licensed child care center or afterschool program at any time; (ii) to use tobacco products or tobacco substitutes on the premises, both indoor and in any outdoor area designated for child care, health or day care services, kindergarten, pre-kindergarten, elementary, or secondary education or library services; and (iii) to use tobacco products or tobacco substitutes on the premises of a licensed or registered family child care home while children are present and in care. Party will refrain from promoting the use of tobacco products for all clients and from making tobacco products available to minors. Failure to comply with the provisions of the federal law may result in the imposition of a civil monetary penalty of up to $1,000 for each violation and/or the imposition of an administrative compliance order on the responsible entity. The federal Pro-Children Act of 1994, however, does not apply to portions of facilities used for inpatient drug or alcohol treatment; service providers whose sole source of applicable federal funds is Medicare or Medicaid; or facilities where Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) coupons are redeemed.
