Exceeding Class Size. Where safety is a factor, the number of pupils in a laboratory, shop, or other specialized classroom shall not exceed the number for which the facilities were designed. When class size is exceeded consultation shall occur among the teacher, principal, and school-based team. If it is decided not to reduce the class size to the guideline, assistance shall be provided in the form of additional school staff unless other arrangements are mutually agreed to by the teacher, the principal, YTA and the employer.

This provision does not apply to a nonpublic agency. c) CONTRACTOR providing special education instruction for individuals with exceptional needs between the ages of three and five years, inclusive, shall also comply with the appropriate instructional adult to child ratios pursuant to California Education Code sections 56440 et seq.
