Common use of Exceptional Clause in Contracts

Exceptional. medical expenses 1 In exceptional cases the employer may grant employees an allowance for essential costs relating to the illness incurred by the employee for himself and for his co-entitled parties if they are not covered by another regulation and these costs cannot reasonably be borne by him. 2 A condition for the payment of the allowance for essential costs is that they are indirect medical costs which are non-recurring or of a temporary nature. The employee’s ability to pay and the total income of the household to which he belongs shall also be taken into account.
