Common use of Exclusions from Coverage Clause in Contracts

Exclusions from Coverage. The Long Term Disability Plan does not cover total disabilities resulting from: (a) war, insurrection, rebellion, or service in the armed forces of any country after the commencement of this plan; (b) voluntary participation in a riot or civil commotion except while an employee is in the course of performing the duties of his/her regular occupation; (c) intentionally self-inflicted injuries or illness; (d) pregnancy, childbirth, miscarriage or abortion except severe complications following termination of pregnancy; (intention is no coverage for normal pregnancy); (e) a disability known to the Employer and which was specifically taken into account by the Employer at time of hiring.
