Common use of Expectations for Professional Employees Clause in Contracts

Expectations for Professional Employees. a. Neither flextime nor the minimum work week requirements will exempt Professional Employees from participating in meetings, holding classes, or completing other professional duties described in Appendix A. The administration will attempt to give adequate notice prior to meetings and other required events. b. Professional Employees are exempt employees and are not eligible for compensatory time. A primary expectation of Professional Employees is quality instruction. It is understood that a Professional Employee shall devote whatever time is required to satisfy Professional Employee and Departmental Expectations, as set forth in Appendix A, Job Expectations for Professional Employees. Sections D.(2) and D.(3) are adopted for the 2021-22 Negotiated Agreement only. Any continuation of Sections D.(2) and D.(3) for future Negotiated Agreements will be subject to negotiation. If there is not an agreement reached that Sections D.(2) and D.(3) should continue as currently existing, or as amended, the designated sections will revert back to Article IV, Section D. Work Week/Flextime in the 2019-20 Negotiated Agreement.
