EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE. 16-1 The school trustees agree that a maximum of four (4) teachers shall, upon request, be granted a leave of absence without pay for the purpose of serving in an elected or appointed office of the Association or another Association with which it is affiliated. To be eligible for leave the employee must have completed two (2) full years under contract with the School District. Such leave is granted for no less than one (1) full contractual year. 16-2 A leave of absence without pay for up to two (2) years shall be granted to any teacher who joins the Peace Corps, VISTA, or National Teacher Corps, and is a full-time participant in these programs. To be eligible for leave the teacher must have completed two (2) full years under contract with the School District.
