Extra Curricular/Field Trips. 1. The drivers shall post, maintain and assist all Extra Curricular Trips, subject to the general direction of the Superintendent or his designee. 2. Bidding for extra curricular/field trips as scheduled by the employer/coach shall be held on the first working day of the week at 9:00 a.m. for all regular drivers for the following week. The bidding shall begin on July 1st of each year with the top senior driver given the option first, then continue down through the seniority list. Bidding shall continue until all trips scheduled for the week are bid. All trips not bid shall then be granted to a substitute driver. When extra runs become available during the month, bidding shall begin with the next regular driver in the seniority list following the last trip bid. Probationary period for new hires shall be 30 calendar days in which all rights of bidding will commence. 3. When a trip is canceled prior to departure time, it shall be granted to the assigned driver when rescheduled. If the assigned driver is unavailable, the trip shall be assigned according to the seniority rotation list. Should there be a need to transport Xxxxxx students to an athletic event, educational field trip, etc., they shall be transported by a Xxxxxx Bus Driver holding a current CDL LICENSE, in a Xxxxxx City school bus, van, etc. Except for the following reasons: a. That a bus is not available. b. That a qualified substitute is not available. c. That a number of students when transported by an advisor/coach shall not exceed nine (9), except that parents may transport any number of students. d. No vans shall be driven unless it is driven by a Xxxxxx bus driver with a CDL license. e. That for a special occasion, the Board has authorized transportation in a “coach bus” (Example: Championship, state or regional playoff, etc.) Should a question arise to the transportation of the event, the UNION may request to meet with the superintendent for a final ruling.

Extra Curricular/Field Trips. 1. The rate for bus drivers shall post, maintain and assist all Extra Curricular Trips, subject to the general direction for extra-curricular trips will be at 90% of step zero (0) of the Superintendent or his designeehourly rate for a minimum of two hours per trip. Should the trip need to be an overnight trip, the driver shall not be paid for eight hours sleeping time, for the duration of this agreement. 2. Bidding for extra curricular/field All extra-curricular trips as scheduled by the employer/coach shall be held on the first working day of the week at 9:00 a.m. for divided equally among all regular bus drivers for the following week. Bus drivers shall not be sent home while on extra-curricular trips unless the driver and transportation coordinator mutually agree upon it, bus drivers shall remain with the group unless they leave for meal purposes. This practice will: a. save fuel, b. save on wear and tear on the busses, c. reduce the number of miles the busses are in service which will also reduce the likelihood they are in an accident, and d. provide that the busses are in place for student should inclement weather begin. 5. The transportation coordinator may select an available driver and disregard the rotation when an emergency exists. 6. In the event this trip is canceled cancelled without prior to departure time, it shall be granted notification being given to the assigned driver, and the driver shows up for the trip, such driver will be paid one (l) hour at the field trip rate. 7. Regular drivers who are unable to drive their extra-curricular trips shall follow seniority when rescheduledfinding a replacement before offering the trip to a sub driver. 8. If the assigned driver is unavailableextra-curricular/field trip consists of four or fewer students, the trip shall qualified coaches or non- bargaining unit staff members may be assigned according to the seniority rotation list. Should there be a need to transport Xxxxxx students to an athletic event, educational field trip, etc., they shall be transported by a Xxxxxx Bus Driver holding a current CDL LICENSE, in a Xxxxxx City school bus, van, etc. Except for the following reasons: a. That a bus is not available. b. That a qualified substitute is not available. c. That a number of students when transported by an advisor/coach shall not exceed nine (9), except that parents may transport any number of students. d. No vans shall be driven unless it is driven by a Xxxxxx bus driver with a CDL license. e. That for a special occasion, the Board has authorized transportation in a “coach bus” (Example: Championship, state or regional playoff, etc.) Should a question arise to the transportation of the event, the UNION may request supervisor to meet with the superintendent drive these trips.
