Common use of Family Illness Leave - Unpaid Clause in Contracts

Family Illness Leave - Unpaid. A leave of absence without pay for up to one (1) year shall be granted for the purpose of caring for a sick or injured member of the employee's immediate family as defined in Bereavement Leave. Approval of this leave shall be subject to a physician's statement indicating the necessity for the employee's presence in caring for the sick or injured member of the immediate family. Additional leave may be granted at the sole discretion of the Superintendent.
