Family School Partnership. The Family School Partnership Act applies to parents, guardians, or grandparents having custody of one or more children in kindergarten through 12th grade. The employee may take up to forty hours each school year, but not more than eight hours in any calendar month of the school year, to participate in activities of the school, if the employee gives prior and reasonable notice to the employer of the planned absence. Leave taken pursuant to this section will be counted as personal necessity leave. If all personal necessity leave has been used, this will be taken from the employee’s sick leave. The employee shall provide documentation of participation from the school, if requested by the employer.
