Fire Prevention Bureau. A. The parties agree that prior to assigning an employee to fill a position in the Fire Prevention Bureau, provided the regular work week for said position is forty (40) hours, the Chief shall post a notice of the opening on the Bulletin Boards. Employees within the Department may express interest in the position to the Chief, in writing, within ten (10) days of the date of the posting of the notice. B. The work week for all members assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau shall be forty (40) hours and consist of five eight hour days Monday through Friday. Upon request from a Fire Prevention Bureau member, they may be permitted to work four (4), ten (10) hour days with approval from the Chief. C. The normal work day shall begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. and shall include a one‐half hour interruptible lunch period. The Fire Chief, or individual members of the Bureau, with approval of the Fire Chief, may modify the normal starting time between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The workday shall then continue for eight hours from the starting time and include a one‐half hour interruptible lunch period. Reasonable advanced notice of any modifications from the normal schedule shall be given to the affected party. Any overtime in the Fire Prevention Bureau shall be at the discretion of the Fire Chief or his designee. D. Members of the Fire Prevention Bureau working a forty (40) hour per week schedule, except members assigned to light duty or work hardening programs, shall receive pay in accordance with the corresponding pay step in the next highest rank. (Fire fighters in Step D, E and F shall be placed in Lieutenant Step D; Fire fighters in Step G shall be placed in Lieutenant.; Fire fighters in Step H shall be placed in Lieutenant.) Said adjustment shall be for pay purposes only, and shall not entitle the member to any of the rights or privileges of said higher rank. E. All members of this bargaining unit assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau shall be granted a work day off for the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Presidents’ Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (as designated by the Mayor) and Christmas Day, provided that any new appointee to the Fire Prevention Bureau who has sold any holidays in advance shall have the option of working said holiday or of reimbursing the City for the holiday(s) through payroll deduction. Personal Leave Days are to be given to all members of this bargaining unit assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau, being two (2) days off during the course of the year, to be taken by unit members subject to the approval of the Chief or his designee, and these days are given in lieu of a designated holiday of national recognition and other holidays. F. The provisions of this Article shall not apply to any twenty‐four (24) hour shift employee. G. Members of the Fire Prevention Bureau working a forty (40) hour per week schedule, except members assigned to light duty or work hardening programs, may take earned vacation in one week increments, as individual days, on an hourly basis, or any combination. An individual day shall be deemed to be eight hours. Individual vacation days shall be granted as follows: Annual Vacation Benefit Maximum Number of Days or Hours That May 2 weeks 10 individual days or 80 hours 3 weeks 15 individual days or 120 hours 4 weeks 20 individual days or 160 hours 5 weeks 25 individual days or 200 hours 6 weeks 30 individual days or 240 hours H. The calculation of sick leave cash out pay for members of the bargaining unit who have served in the Fire Prevention Bureau shall be the same as that provided in Article 26(H) (Sick Leave) of this Agreement for twenty‐four (24) hour shift members with the additional provision that the net sick leave hours attributable to the period of service in the Fire Prevention Bureau (i.e. total sick leave hours earned while assigned to the bureau less total sick leave hours taken while assigned to the bureau) or the member’s sick leave balance at the time of cash out, whichever is less, shall be multiplied by eight tenths (0.8), and that product, whether positive or negative, shall be added to the member’s total sick leave balance prior to the calculation of the cash out.

Fire Prevention Bureau. A. Section 21.1. The parties agree that prior to assigning an employee to fill a position in the Fire Prevention Bureau, provided the regular work week for said position is forty (40) hours, the Chief shall post a notice of the opening on the Bulletin Boards. Employees within the Department may express interest in the position to the Chief, in writing, within ten (10) days of the date of the posting of the notice. B. The work week for all members assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau shall be under the supervision of the Chief of Fire. Any employee within the Bureau will be referred to as a Fire Prevention Officer (FPO). Section 21.2. Employees in the Bureau of Fire Prevention shall work forty (40) hours and consist of five eight per week. The normal forty (40) hour days Monday through Friday. Upon request from a Fire Prevention Bureau member, they may workweek shall be permitted to work comprised into four (4), ) ten (10) hour days with approval from workdays per week. The non-working fifth day of the Chiefnormal Monday through Friday workweek shall be determined by the Chief of Fire for each employee. The workday hours shall be scheduled by the Chief of Fire. C. The normal work day Section 21.3. Employees in the Bureau of Fire Prevention shall begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. and shall include a one‐half hour interruptible lunch period. The Fire Chief, or individual members be entitled to ten (10) hours of paid holidays for each of the Bureauholidays provided by this Agreement. Additionally, with approval employees assigned to the Bureau shall receive three (3) personal days off of ten (10) hour shifts which must be scheduled within the calendar year. Employees may voluntarily work on Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Xxxx Xxx, President's Day and/or Veteran's Day holidays and exchange those holidays for other days off during the year mutually convenient and agreeable to the employee and the Fire Chief. In the event the employee elects to voluntarily work on any of the three (3) holidays contained in this Agreement, may modify the normal starting time between parties agree such day shall consist of ten (10) hours for such staff employees. Moreover, the hours of 6:00 a.m. parties explicitly agree that the provisions for overtime pay for employees who work, on a holiday shall not be applicable to any Fire Prevention Bureau employee who voluntarily elects to switch the holiday and 10:00 a.m. The workday shall then continue for eight hours from the starting time and include a one‐half hour interruptible lunch period. Reasonable advanced notice of any modifications from the normal schedule shall such three (3) holidays worked in this Agreement would be given to the affected party. Section 21.6. Employees in the next highest rank. (Bureau of Fire fighters in Step D, E and F Prevention shall be placed provided with a clothing allowance of one thousand two hundred ($1,200.00) dollars payable in Lieutenant Step D; Fire fighters in Step G shall be placed in LieutenantJanuary of each year.; Fire fighters in Step H shall be placed in Lieutenant.) Said adjustment shall be for pay purposes only, and shall not entitle the member to any of the rights or privileges of said higher rank. E. Fire Prevention Bureau. A. 30.01 The parties agree that prior to assigning an employee to fill a position existing Bureau of Fire Prevention in the Division of Fire Prevention Bureau, provided is hereby maintained. The Bureau shall operate under the regular work week for said position is forty (40) hours, the Chief shall post a notice supervision of the opening on the Bulletin Boards. Employees within the Department may express interest in the position to the Chief, in writing, within ten (10) days Fire Inspector Captain senior ranking inspector and control of the date of the posting of the notice. B. Fire Chief. The work week for all members assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau shall be staffed by the Fire Inspector Xxxxxxx and two Inspectors. 30.02 Inspector(s) assigned to the Bureau of Fire Prevention, including the Fire Inspection Captain, shall not work less than forty (40) hours of non-firefighting duties per week unless the Safety Director and consist Chief of five eight hour days Monday through Friday. Upon request from a Fire Prevention Bureau member, they may determine that the Inspector(s) shall be permitted assigned to work four (4), ten (10) hour days with approval from the Chief. C. The normal work day shall begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. and shall include a one‐half hour interruptible lunch periodplatoon schedules similar to the fire fighting force. The Fire Chief, or individual members Inspector(s) of the Bureau, with approval of the Fire Chief, may modify the normal starting time between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The workday shall then continue for eight hours from the starting time and include a one‐half hour interruptible lunch period. Reasonable advanced notice of any modifications from the normal schedule shall be given to the affected party. Any overtime in the Fire Prevention Bureau shall be at appointed under Civil Service by the discretion Safety Director on the basis of competitive examination of employees of the Division of Fire Chief or his designeeto determine their qualifications. Appointments shall continue during good behavior and satisfactory service and Inspector(s) shall not be removed from office except for cause as prescribed by the disciplinary procedures of this Agreement. Inspector(s) also shall be certified as required by the State of Ohio under Ohio Revised Code 3307.07. D. Members 30.03 The Director of Public Safety, under the advisement of the Chief of Fire, may temporarily assign Fire Prevention Bureau Fighters, working a platoon shift to work forty (40) hour per week schedule, except members assigned weeks to light duty or work hardening programs, perform fire prevention duties. Said Fire Fighters shall receive pay in accordance with qualify for such duties through successful certification under the corresponding pay step in the next highest rankOhio Revised Code and applicable regulations. (Fire fighters in Step D, E and F shall be placed in Lieutenant Step D; Fire fighters in Step G shall be placed in Lieutenant.; Fire fighters in Step H shall be placed in Lieutenant.) Said adjustment shall be for pay purposes only, and Temporary assignments shall not entitle exceed one year without an annual review by the member to any Chief of the rights or privileges of said higher rankFire. E. All members of this bargaining unit 30.04 Fire Fighters temporarily assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau shall be granted compensated at the applicable hourly rate for a work day off for the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Presidents’ Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans’ Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (as designated Fire Inspector. 30.05 Earned overtime by the MayorInspector(s) and Christmas Day, provided that any new appointee to of the Bureau of Fire Prevention Bureau who has sold any holidays in advance shall have the option of working said holiday or of reimbursing the City for the holiday(s) through payroll deduction. Personal Leave Days are to be given to all members of this bargaining unit assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau, being two (2) days off during the course beyond that of the year, to be taken by unit members subject to the approval of the Chief or his designee, and these days are given in lieu of a designated holiday of national recognition and other holidays. F. The provisions of this Article shall not apply to any twenty‐four (24) hour shift employee. G. Members of the Fire Prevention Bureau working a normal forty (40) hour workweek shall be governed by the overtime provisions of the Agreement. Emergency overtime hours for Inspector(s) classified as emergency overtime hours shall also be governed by provisions of the Agreement. 30.06 The normal forty hour work week shall be comprised into four ten hour work days per week schedule, except members assigned to light duty or week. The work hardening programs, may take earned vacation in one week increments, as individual days, on an hourly basis, or any combination. An individual day shall commence at 7:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. The resulting, non- working fifth day of the normal Monday through Friday work week shall be deemed picked on the basis of seniority within this rank as the Inspector’s off day. Except during vacation times, one inspector shall always be on duty on the day of the week his fellow inspector has chosen to be eight hours. Individual vacation days shall be granted as follows: Annual Vacation Benefit Maximum Number of Days or Hours That May 2 weeks 10 individual days or 80 hours 3 weeks 15 individual days or 120 hours 4 weeks 20 individual days or 160 hours 5 weeks 25 individual days or 200 hours 6 weeks 30 individual days or 240 hours H.
