Common use of Foreign Teaching Clause in Contracts

Foreign Teaching. An employee who has completed a minimum of three (3) consecutive years of teaching for the District shall be granted, upon proper application, a leave of absence not to exceed one (1) year to teach in a foreign school; provided the District determines such leave of absence will not be detrimental to the educational program, there will be no additional cost to the District, and an acceptable replacement is available if required. The employee granted such leave shall retain her/his salary schedule position and accrued sick leave benefits existing when the leave began.
