[ SPANISH TEXT – TEXTE ESPAGNOL ] [TRANSLATION – TRADUCTION] AGREEMENT ON THE ENVIRONMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF PERU AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION The Government of the Republic of Peru and the Government of the Russian Federation, hereinafter referred to as "the Parties", Desiring to strengthen, develop and diversify bilateral relations between the two States; Conscious of the importance of sustainable development in protecting and preserving the environment, health and well-being of present and future generations; Advocating for commitment to exchanges between the Executive Branch agencies of both States in various fields, including environmental protection, in order to deepen bilateral cooperation and coordinate their activities; Taking into account the agreements adopted at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development, held in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992, and at the World Summit on Sustainable Development, held in Johannesburg in August 2002; Taking as a basis the principles and recommendations adopted at the "Rio-KSG" United Nations Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development (Rio de Janeiro, 2012); Convinced that cooperation between the Parties in the field of the environment is mutually advantageous and contributes to the strengthening of friendship between the two States; Conscious of the need to deepen technical cooperation in the field of environmental protection; Agree as follows:
