GRIEVANCE - STEP 3. If the grievance is not settled at Step 2, the following procedure shall be followed: 1. The employee may request that the matter be submitted to grievance mediation through the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS). Such determination must be made within ten (10) days of receipt of the written decision at Step 2. In the event that mediation is not chosen, the Union may request the grievance be moved to Step 4. Such determination must be made within twenty days (20) days of receipt of the written decision at Step 2. 2. If the decision is to proceed to grievance mediation, the employee and the District will mutually notify FMCS and schedule the mediation promptly.
