HANDLING CHEMICALS. All chemicals in the lab are to be considered dangerous and used with caution. Chemicals are not to be touched, tasted, or smelled. Only "wafting" method of smelling chemicals should be practiced (if needed) after undergoing proper demonstration by the TA.

Use wash bottles ONLY as intended...e.g. rinsing glassware or adding water to a container. Remove electrical plugs by grasping plug not the cord. Examine glassware before each use for cracks and chips. Dispose chipped glassware as directed. Report all damaged electrical equipment...frayed cords, exposed wires, etc. Do not immerse hot glassware in cold water...it may shatter.
HANDLING CHEMICALS. (a) Employees loading, unloading, stacking or carrying cement, lime or alum in bags or handling empty cement, lime or alum bags, or working on the maintenance of alum or lime machines, will be paid 87 cents per hour over ordinary rates up to four (4) hours. If the time exceeds four (4) hours, the employee will be entitled to $5.60 per day extra. (b) Employees handling lime, alum or other powdered chemicals at water treatment works will be paid $3.76 per shift extra. (c) Employees spreading bleaching powder will be paid 95 cents per hour extra. (d) Employees on maintenance of chlorine or fluoride chemical dosing machines or when handling caustic soda or acids will be paid $1.79 cents per hour.

  • Recycling If this Agreement provides for the purchase or use of goods specified in PCC 12207 (for example, certain paper products, office supplies, mulch, glass products, lubricating oils, plastic products, paint, antifreeze, tires and tire-derived products, and metal products), this section is applicable with respect to those goods. Without limiting the foregoing, if this Agreement includes (i) document printing, (ii) parts cleaning, or (iii) janitorial and building maintenance services, this section is applicable. Contractor shall use recycled products in the performance of this Agreement to the maximum extent doing so is economically feasible. Upon request, Contractor shall certify in writing under penalty of perjury, the minimum, if not exact, percentage of post consumer material as defined in the PCC 12200, in such goods regardless of whether the goods meet the requirements of PCC 12209. With respect to printer or duplication cartridges that comply with the requirements of PCC 12156(e), the certification required by this subdivision shall specify that the cartridges so comply.

  • Transportation Transportation expenses include, but are not limited to, airplane, train, bus, taxi fares, rental cars, parking, mileage reimbursement, and tolls that are reasonably and necessarily incurred as a result of conducting State business. Each State agency shall determine the necessity for travel, and the mode of travel to be reimbursed.

  • Transport The Parents consent to the Pupil travelling by any form of public transport and / or in a motor vehicle driven by a responsible adult who is duly licensed and insured to drive a vehicle of that type.

  • Reactivation To reactivate suspended Service, you must bring your account current through the month of reactivation by making payment in full of any outstanding balance, fees and other applicable charges. In addition, we may require a deposit before reactivating your Service. The amount of the deposit will not exceed one year of monthly fees. Any amounts deposited by you will appear on your statement as a credit, and service charges and other fees will be invoiced as described above. If you fail to pay any amount on a subsequent xxxx, the unpaid amount will be deducted each billing cycle from the credit amount. Credit amounts will not earn or accrue interest.

  • Subprocessing The data importer shall not subcontract any of its processing operations performed on behalf of the data exporter under the Clauses without the prior written consent of the data exporter. Where the data importer subcontracts its obligations under the Clauses, with the consent of the data exporter, it shall do so only by way of a written agreement with the subprocessor which imposes the same obligations on the subprocessor as are imposed on the data importer under the Clauses. Where the subprocessor fails to fulfil its data protection obligations under such written agreement the data importer shall remain fully liable to the data exporter for the performance of the subprocessor's obligations under such agreement.

  • Disposal The Recipient will not, without the Province’s prior written consent, sell, lease, or otherwise dispose of any asset purchased or created with the Funds or for which Funds were provided, the cost of which exceeded the amount as provided for in Schedule “B” at the time of purchase.

  • Drainage Systems (1) Clear culvert inlets, outlets, and sediment catching basins. (2) Maintain waterbars, drainage dips, and other water diversion measures. (3) During active use, patrol and maintain functional drainage. (4) Repair damaged culvert ends.
