The Contractor’s personnel is to undergo Safety Induction Training at Duvha prior to commencement of this contract and all the relevant Documentation is to be approved by Safety Officials and the Project Manager before any activities can be started on site.. a) The Contractor complies with the requirements of the Duvha Power Station Safety, Health & Environmental Specifications SAS 0012: Duvha Power Station Contractors safety manual b) The documents are completed by the Contractor’s and submitted to the Employer before taking possession of the works. c) These documents are valid for the duration of the works. d) The Contractor and all his personnel attend a Health and Safety Induction Course prior to starting with the works. e) The induction course is presented by the Safety Risk Department at Duvha Power Station. f) The Contractor makes arrangements with Safety Risk Management at telephone number 000- 000-0000. g) The Contractor submits all the documents as indicated in the Safety, Health & Environmental Specifications relevant to the work to Safety Risk Management before the induction course. h) The Contractor completes all appointments required and ensures that the appointee and appointees fully understand their responsibilities and are competent and trained to execute their duties. i) The appointees/appointee ensures that all duties are carried out and records are kept by the Contractor for review/audit by the Employer or Inspector of Machinery. j) Management has the right and authority to visit and inspect the Contractor’s work place or Site establishment. k) The Contractor supplies and ensures that his employees wear the necessary PPE according the risk assessments performed on the specific tasks to be carried out. l) The Contractor ensures that everyone entering Duvha Power Station under his supervision is medically, physically and psychologically fit to enter Duvha Power Station. m) The medical examination, at the Contractors cost, is carried out by a Registered Professional Occupational Health Practitioner and the examination shall include the following tests: n) Eye Test, Blood Pressure, o) Heart Function, p) Hearing Test and q) Lung Function.

The ContractorContractor shall provide a health and safety plan based on Employer’s personnel is Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Specification, General Safety Requirements The Contractor shall comply with the latest revision of the Eskom Generation Plant Safety Regulations, site specific procedures and stipulations of the OHS Act. Proof of “Notification to perform Construction Work” – a copy of the Safety, Health & Environmental Specifications relevant notification addressed to the work to Safety Risk Management before Department of Labour as required Regulation 3 of the induction course. h) The Contractor completes all appointments required and ensures Construction Regulations Proof of an Induction Program (it is advised that the appointee Lethabo SHE Rules as a Guide) and appointees fully understand their responsibilities an attendance register signed by its employees prior the commencement of any construction work on site. Proof of the contracting company’s employees Medical Fitness Certificate. (Must still be valid – one year. May only have been issued by an occupational health practitioner) Proof of Contractors weekly Health and are competent Safety Rep Inspections regarding its own site and trained where detached work is performed Proof of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) issued to execute their duties. i) The appointeesContractor’s employees. Health and safety risk management. The Contractor shall comply with the health and safety requirements contained in section C1.3 under PART C1: AGREEMENT AND CONTRACT DATA The Contractor shall be fully responsible for compliance to the Occupational Health and Safety Act for all its employees on site, equipment and installations relating to this contract. The Contractor is expected to sign the undertaking in this regard. It shall be the Contractor’s responsibility to ensure that all relevant labour, safety legislation and applicable compliance are adhered to in this contract. Regulations as set out in the safety induction shall be obeyed at all times. The Contractor’s personnel employees on site shall obey all health and safety rules, procedures and practices. In particular, NO SMOKING signs and the prohibition of the carrying of smoking materials in designated areas shall always be obeyed. A copy of the Safety Rules booklet is available on request from the ACSA Safety Department. All the applicable requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (1993) and Regulations and any amendments thereto, shall be met. Where the OHS Act prescribes certification of competency of persons performing certain tasks, proof of such certification shall be provided to undergo Safety Induction Training at Duvha prior the Service Manager. The Contractor’s Workmen’s Compensation fees must be up to date. A copy of the Contractor’s WCA registration shall be produced before commencement of this contract and all contract. The following areas in the relevant Documentation is company are declared as “HOT WORK PERMIT” areas: • All airside areas • All areas accessible to the public • All enclosed areas • The terminal building Any process in the above-mentioned areas involving open flames, sparks, or heat shall be approved authorised by the issue of a permit to work - obtainable from the ACSA Safety Officials and department. Any work done under the Project Manager before any activities can protection of a permit to work shall be started on site.. ain strict compliance with every prescription regarding the permit. Safety equipment shall be used where applicable (e.g. safety, goggles, boots, harness, etc.) The Contractor, at his/her own expense shall provide such equipment, for his/her employees. All contractors must ensure that his/her employees are familiar with the requirements existing emergency procedures, emergency assembly points and must co-operate in any drills or exercises, which might be held. Emergency / fire equipment and extinguishers shall not be obstructed at any time No person shall perform an unsafe / unhygienic act or operation whilst on Company premises. No unsafe/dangerous equipment or tools may be brought onto or used on Company premises. The Company reserves the right to inspect all equipment/tools at any time and to prevent/prohibit their use, without any penalty to the Company and without affecting the terms of the Duvha Power Station SafetyContract in any way. The Employer reserves the right to act in any way to ensure the safety/security of any persons, Health & Environmental Specifications SAS 0012: Duvha Power Station Contractors safety manual b) The documents are completed equipment or goods on its premises and will not be liable for any costs or loss evoked by the Contractor’s action. This includes the right to search all vehicles and submitted persons entering, leaving or on the premises and to inspect any parcel, package, handbag and pockets. Persons who are not willing to permit such searches may not bring any such items or vehicles onto the Employer before taking possession of premises. The Contractor shall maintain good housekeeping standards in the works. c) These documents are valid area where he is working for the duration of the works. d) contract. Cell phones and two-way radios • Use of cell phones on airside is not permitted unless the user is in possession of an appropriate Airport permit for the device.
